Dormant / lost Bitcoin
TIME, OBSERVED ON-CHAIN
Dormant / lost Bitcoin
Addresses in the verified selection holding more than 50 or 100 BTC in outputs unspent for over five years. Newer bitcoin at the same address is shown separately.
Dormant does not mean lost. The blockchain records transactions and unspent outputs, but cannot prove that keys were lost or that an owner can no longer spend.
Outputs confirmed before
Checking now; the last verified observations and their dates are shown meanwhile.
How to read these addresses
The threshold counts only BTC in UTXOs confirmed before the five-year cutoff, not the total balance. A recent receipt, however small, may add new BTC without moving ancient outputs. Addresses do not necessarily represent different wallets or people. “No confirmed spend” describes the observed data, not proof of lost keys.
Checks once daily while open and when you return to the page; verification may be cached for up to 24 hours. The button rechecks the result available on the server. Dates are UTC.
How to read these data
Monitored addresses and unspent outputs (UTXOs) unmoved for more than five calendar years. Thresholds above 50 or 100 BTC apply to verified dormant bitcoin, not automatically the entire balance. Recent deposits remain separate.
On-chain data is verified through mempool.space or Blockstream Esplora APIs, with sources and dates. Coverage is a partial sample, not every network address. “Lost” describes a possibility: inactivity does not prove that keys are lost. An address does not necessarily identify a person or a wallet; history limitations remain visible.
